Q: Where is the Alpaca Fun Retreat located?
A: We are located in Punta Gorda, Florida. Approximately 15 minutes north of Fort Myers and 1 ½ hours south of the Tampa/St Petersburg area, 2 hours southwest of Orlando and 2 ½ hours northeast of the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. We will provide specific directions from your location upon reservation.
Q: Does the Retreat have Alpacas?
A: No the Retreat does not have any alpacas at this time.
Q: Do you have a minimum stay?
A: Yes, 3 days /2 nights.
Q: What are the minimum/maximum guests at a retreat?
A: We have beds and craft tables for 12. We will accept groups as small as four. Due to Covid, we are not currently combining any groups. It is first come first serve for reservations.
Q: Can I come and Stay for only one night?
A: To make it fair for all the guests staying during a weekend, we only offer two night stay retreats. We understand weekends are busy for everyone and you are welcome to come and go as you please throughout the weekend.
Q: What if we want to extend our stay and make it a 3 or 4-day retreat?
A: You are welcome to stay an extra day. An extra night is only $40 per person. Advance registration for an extended stay is greatly appreciated but we will do our best to accommodate last minute requests.
Q: I need to cancel my weekend retreat; can I get my money back?
A: If you cancel prior to 30 days before your scheduled weekend we will provide a full refund of your paid balance. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to your scheduled retreat date you will not receive a refund. But, we will keep your paid balance for six months to apply toward a future weekend stay. Please remember we try to prepare for your weekend stay early. This includes food, snacks, supplies, etc. Each spot that is “saved” is a spot we were unable to offer to another guest.
Q: All my friends are coming, can I just come on Saturday and craft for the day?
A: To make the weekend prices fair for everyone we only offer full weekend retreats.
Q: What are the sleeping arrangements?
A: Alpaca Fun Retreat has 3 bedrooms all located on the first floor. Each room has 4 twin size beds. Extra pillows and blankets are kept in the laundry room.
Q: When is Check-In/Out?
A: Check-in time is any time after 12 noon on the day of your scheduled retreat and check-out is 3:00 pm on the scheduled day of departure.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: Yourself and your personal scrapbook/crafting/quilting gear and food! We also suggest warm slippers, comfy sweats and cozy pajamas. Alpaca Fun Retreat is all about crafting, relaxing and being pampered-no need for makeup and getting dressed up! For those who crawl into bed in the wee hours of the morning, we suggest bringing an eye mask to help you sleep a few hours longer during the daylight.
Q: Is there a scrapbooking/quilting store in the area?
A: There is a Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Joann Fabrics. Also White Daisy Quilt Shop in Punta Gorda and P&J’s Quilt Store in North Fort Myers.

Q: Do you have wireless internet?
A: Yes, and it’s free. Because of the rural area we live in our internet service is limited. We ask that guests connect only one device at a time.
Q: Where is the Crop Room?
A: The Crop room is on the main floor of the home.
Q: What is my work space like?
A: Every person has a 5′ table and a comfy chair, along with an Ottlight, cup holder & trash bag. There are outlets available at every table.
Q: What are the sleeping arrangements?
A: There are 3 bedrooms, with 4 beds in each room. Each bed has a sheet set, blanket, & comforter. Each guest is also given a bath towel and washcloth. Please bring your favorite pillow if possible. Extra pillows are available.
Q: What else is there to do in the area?
A: There are many restaurants, stores, & shops in the area. For your convenience, a list of places is at the Retreat.
Q:Is bedding, silverware, etc. provided?
A: We provide all bedding, toilet paper, all kitchen ware (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, utensils, salt and pepper, garbage bags, dish soap, coffee filters, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and we have less-utilized items available to borrow (like blenders, etc). We also provide towels, washcloths, napkins, and paper towels. If you forget something, however, check with us before going out and buying it, we may have it to borrow, rent, or purchase.
Q: Is food provided?
A: No food is provided. We do have a totally stocked kitchen – dishes, cups, silverware, bowls, platters, pots, pans, pitchers, plus a crock pot, toaster, & blender. There is a large refrigerator, stove, & microwave. We also have a coffee maker & a Kuerig (bring your own coffee & K cups; instant coffee is provided). Q: Is there a grocery store nearby?
A: There are 2 Publix Super Markets and 2 Walmart Supercenters

Q: Can we bring our own alcoholic beverages?
A: Yes, there are also wine glasses available for your use.
Q: Do you provide coffee and/or sodas?
A: We have a limited supply of K-cups. We do not provide any sodas.
Q: Do we need to clean before we leave?
A: Please load the dishwasher and run it, take all trash out to the containers on the side of the garage. Checkout lists are provided on the wall in each bedroom. Thank you so much for your help – It is greatly appreciated!
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Sorry, but no.
Q: Is there a host on site?
A: The owners live in a separate area attached to the house. The majority of the home will be yours during your stay.
Q: What happens if we accidentally pack up a scrap booking supply from the work area and it comes home with us?
A: We do an inventory check of the retreat before you arrive to make sure all the supplies are there for your use. This same inventory checklist is completed after your departure. If we find that something is missing, we will notify you, and you will be responsible for paying the shipping to have the item returned to us, and if it can’t be located, you will be billed for the missing item
Q: Is there a land line telephone?
A: No, there is not a land line phone.
Q: Is there cell phone coverage?
A: Yes.
Q: Is Smoking allowed at the Retreat?
A: There is no smoking allowed inside the buildings. There will be buckets to safely deposit cigarette butts outside. A $200 cleaning fee will be assessed if smoking occurs within the retreat.
